Keto Cubano (Cuban Sandwich)

A delicious Cuban sandwich, or Cubano, has long been my Achilles heel… But with this keto version, I can indulge regularly without the guilt!

It makes a great lunch or lighter supper, and is the perfect fit for your Super Bowl Sunday menu. 🏈

Ingredients

1 keto sesame bun (see our Keto Sesame Bun recipe)
1 slice of roast pork
2 slices of ham
2 slices of Swiss cheese
2 slices of dill pickle
1 tsp Dijon mustard

Directions

Preheat your panini press. Alternatively, the Cubano can be grilled and pressed in a pan.

Slice the sesame bun through the center, then slather both inner sides with mustard.

Layer the roast pork, ham, pickle and cheese in the sandwich.

Transfer the sandwich to the panini press, then careful press it and let it grill about 5 min or until you get nice grill marks on the Cubano.

Cut the sandwich in half and enjoy. It works wonders with a side of cole slaw.

Repeat to make as many Cuban sandwiches as desired!
