Keto Tibetan Butter Tea
When my favourite Tibetan restaurant closed a few years back, I was heartbroken.
However, I can bring home some of that flavour with this keto version of Tibetan butter tea. This liquid fatbomb is the perfect way to warm up on a cold winter day! ❄️️
Ingredients
3/4 cup unsweetened almond milk
1/4 cup 35% cream
1 Tbsp (or 1 tea bag) black tea leaves
1 Tbsp butter

Directions
In a small sauce pan over medium-high heat, combine all the ingredients and bring to a simmer.
Allow the butter tea to simmer 2-3 minutes to infuse. The mixture will take on a golden cream colour from the black tea.
Strain into a mug and enjoy.
For an alternate version, you can use lapsang souchong tea, which is a smoked black tea. It gives the butter tea a rich smoky flavour and tastes like it was made on a campfire!
