Korean-Style Daikon Fries (Keto)
This is a Korean-inspired take on fries with gravy (locally called “frites sauce”). Sweet and salty with a little bit of heat, these make a pretty epic side.
The daikon fries are air fried with some sesame oil and Korean red chili powder, which is my personal Frank’s RedHot: I literally put that s*** on everything!
Ingredients
3 cups daikon, cut into fries
2 tsp toasted sesame oil
1 tsp Korean red chili powder (Gochugaru)
Salt and pepper, to taste
Optional, for garnish: sliced scallion, sliced thai chili peppers and black sesame seeds
Sauce
1 Tbsp soy sauce

Directions
Wash and peel the daikon, then cut into fries.
In a large bowl, toss the daikon in the sesame oil, Korean red chili powder, salt and pepper.
Transfer the seasoned daikon to the air fryer, and air fry at 400F for 12-15 min, until golden. Alternatively, you can bake them in the oven at 400F for 20-25 min.
While the daikon fries are cooking, prepare the sauce by whisking together the ingredients in a small saucepan.
Bring to a low simmer over medium-high heat, stirring frequently, and allow to reduce for 10 min. Remove from heat.
Once the daikon fries are ready, serve drizzled with the reduced sauce. Optionally, garnish with scallion, thai chilis and black sesame seeds.
